- Gina starts the show chatting about her puppy-sitting adventures. (1:25)
- Vinnie loves dogs and chats about his experience with his vizslas, as well as a little history behind the breed. (3:55)
- Vinnie give Gina a couple more suggestions on breeds that he likes.
COMPASS COMPARISONS
- The conversation then switches to a study Gina found from Tufts
University that uses the "Food Compass" system to rank certain
foods. (17:00)
- The study suggests that ice cream ranks as better than a bagel; as a result Gina questions this and asks Vinnie to explain.
- Vinnie then explains the misleading information that complex carbs are "better" than simple carbs.
- Vinnie mentions a conversation about sugar he had with Dr. Drew. (19:30)
- He explains the difference between a glucose spike and a glycogen load. (20:50)
- Gina brings up a "pasta hack" that she saw on Instagram. (24:00)
- As a result, Vinnie says there is some truth in it; however, the reality is that your body still has to process it and it ultimately makes no difference.
